Waffle's Mom, BJ, was declining so rapidly, many of us thought she would make it to Christmas, but God had another idea. He wanted us all to draw closer to Him and to trust Him more deeply.

Waffle's mom was really doing badly in September when we arrived, and she rapidly deteriorated through October. In November, Leigh, Waffle's sister took her to a specialist in Denver, who diagnosed her with autoimmune dermatomyositis, which means that she was having an immune reaction to her own skin and muscles. They put her on some prednisalone and now have her in some good physical therapy programs that are really helping out.
